Last year, the Sharks made a commitment to help save lives from
cancer by taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For
Life®, raising $3,715 for cancer research. Well, we're at
it again this year, and the Sharks goal this year is to raise
at least $5,000. By taking part in Relay For Life®, we have a
chance to join 3.5 million people from across the country to
celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember
loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too
much. At the same time, we’ll help raise much needed funds
and awareness to support the American Cancer Society’s
efforts to save more lives

personal page. If you are not able to attend, you can still help by
making an online donation, or helping us coordinate our Relay
presence this year. We are really hoping to kick it up a notch now
that we've done it once and kind of know what to expect. It is a
REAL blast, both for the kids and the adults! If you're new to the
swim team this year, you'll quickly find out that the Sharks are
able to turn most anything into a party! More information about our
Relay for Life team will be coming throughout the season, but for
starters:
At the event, we'll camp out overnight and take turns walking
around the track. There is an incredible ceremony to celebrate
cancer survivors and caregivers that starts off the night, and a
moving ceremony to honor and remember those who have fought the
disease. I can truly say that Relay is a life-changing experience.
It's a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.
Whether it is through a friend, family member, the neighbor down
the street, or our own personal experience, most of us have been
touched by cancer in some way. Please join our team. Together, we
have the power to help create a world where cancer can no longer
claim another year of anyone’s life.
